Case study · Community & Membership Platform

A community, running as an operating business.

Latinos en Tailandia is a trilingual community platform we built, own, and operate — member sign-up, a business directory, a voucher and loyalty engine, partner commission tracking, and the admin panel that runs it. It is live, and it is available white-label for your community.

The problem.

A community without infrastructure is a group chat. Members are unreachable, local businesses that would happily offer them something have no way to do it, and nobody can tell whether any of it is working.

The off-the-shelf answer is a membership SaaS: you rent someone else's platform, put your community inside their brand, pay per member as you grow, and hand over a percentage of anything you charge. The custom answer is an agency build that costs more than most communities will ever raise.

We wanted to know what it takes to run the whole thing properly — so we built it for our own community first, and we operate it every day.

What we built.

One platform, in three languages, on our own infrastructure. Every part of it is in production:

Trilingual from the ground up

Spanish, English, and Thai — site, forms, and transactional email. Not a translation plugin: routed locales, localized metadata, and per-language email templates.

Members and sign-up

Custom fields (including country of origin across 21 Latin American countries), spam protection, rate limiting, and explicit marketing consent captured at the point of signup.

Business directory and map

Categorized listings with detail pages, plus an interactive map so members can find what is near them.

Voucher and loyalty engine

An offer catalog, single-use redemption links validated in real time, a monthly member send, and a ledger of every issue and redemption.

Partner commissions

Partner businesses join the directory on a referral model. The platform tracks what each partner is owed and settles from the same ledger the redemptions are written to.

The admin panel

Everything above is managed from one place — members, partners, offers, publishing, and exports — with role-based access, so day-to-day operators never need a developer.

What it demonstrates.

This is not a demo we assembled for a pitch. It is a system we depend on, which means it has had to survive the unglamorous parts: verified email deliverability on our own domain, a rebrand carried end to end through code, SEO, and live templates, and the schema and permission work that comes with real partner money moving through a ledger.

Because we run it, we know what it costs to operate — and where the sharp edges are. That is the difference between a portfolio piece and an operating manual.

The same stack is multi-tenant. A second community is a configured instance, not a second project — which is why we can offer it at a fraction of what a build from scratch costs.

Available for your community.

Associations, chambers, alumni networks, clubs, professional bodies, expat and diaspora communities, multi-location loyalty programs — if it has members and businesses that want to reach them, this platform fits.

  • Your brand, your domain, your data — not a tenant inside someone else's product
  • No per-member pricing and no cut of what you charge your members
  • Launch with the core platform; add the voucher engine, partner commissions, and extra languages when your community is ready for them
  • An installable app on members' phones, with a branded app on the App Store and Google Play as an add-on
  • We host, update, and operate it — or hand it over. Monthly fees apply only where we keep running something for you.

Every engagement starts with a paid discovery session, credited in full to the build.
